If you have been fishing since your early childhood, you may believe you know everything you need to know about fishing. On the other hand, if you’ve never held a rod in your life, you may not think you know enough to even try. Both experienced and new fishermen can always learn some new tricks, and this solid advice is for both.
Fishermen should try to blend in with the environment when they fish. While they don’t have good eyesight, fish can see color and may be frightened away by overly colorful, noticeable items. Be sure you stay with earth tones.
Check out the fish migration patterns so you know whether to fish downhill or uphill during the different seasons. During spring, you cast uphill if you want to catch the most fish. During fall, fish will move in the opposite direction. Therefore, you need to fish downhill.
The most fish are caught with natural live bait. Typically, fish dine on the insects native to the body of water that they live in. Fish will more likely bite bait that you can also catch at the water’s banks. Expensive lures tend to be more flash than function.
Try and stay as quite as possible whenever you fish. Loud noises are more responsible for frightening fish away than anything else. If you must communicate with another person, try to do so in a voice that is no louder than a soft whisper; this will greatly increase your chances for success.
Be careful you don’t catch anything on fire when fishing near the bank. Make people use cancer sticks during fishing trips. If you’re one of them, make sure the embers of your cigarette don’t inadvertently light leaves or grass on fire. Although the bank may not actually be wet, surrounding areas could be set on fire easily.
Fly Fishing
Do not choose a windy day for fly fishing. Casting won’t have as much accuracy on a windy day. The best time you should try fly fishing is when it’s early morning or evening when there is not as much wind. If you are having problems with the wind, try positioning yourself with the wind, rather than against it or at your side.
It makes no difference if you’ve been fishing your whole life or if you are just beginning. Regardless of how good you are at fishing already, you can enjoy this sport. One thing you should always remember is that as long as you remain committed and focused, your fishing skills will improve.
