
No matter how old they are, everyone is enchanted with the iPad. Children use them for games, while adults use them for business and communication. There is no limit to what you can do with it. Read on to learn more about putting your iPad to use to your fullest advantage.
It is easy to access all open apps. Double-click on Home, and you’ll see your running apps at the bottom of the screen. You may switch to another running app, just by tapping that app in that bar. Swipe downward on the screen to make the bar disappear.
Currently Running
Make sure you check out your currently running apps. Some apps can continue to run simultaneously with other things on the iPad. Double-click Home to see what’s currently running. Any applications running at the time will be shown at the screen’s bottom in a bar. Swipe your finger in a downward motion to close the window.
If you’ve ever been interrupted by your iPad at a bad time you likely want to know how to silence it quickly. The volume can quickly be muted by holding down the decrease volume button. Alternately, you could configure the button labeled LOCK ORIENTATION to use instead of the mute button.
You don’t need to press the small camera icon that’s found near the bottom left of the screen to see videos or pictures you just took. Just swipe your finger to the right to find the video or picture you just took. To view past pictures, swipe to the left.
You should adjust your settings to preview more than a few lines of the emails you receive. In your Settings menu, click on Mail, and then find the Preview setting. Change the setting to 5 lines. This should help you decide if you really need to read the entire email or not.
Your iPad’s default setting lets you see two lines of a new email prior to you selecting it. It can help for you to see more lines before you open up the email. Navigate to Settings and select Mail. Choose Contacts>>Calendar, and then select the number of lines you’d like to preview for Mail.
If you are like most people, you receive many emails each day and do not need to be notified each time. Are you aware that you can turn it off? Just select your Settings button and then General after that. Select Sounds under the General heading. In this area, you will be able to adjust your sound settings for NEW MAIL.
Do you use Google calender? Would you like to incorporate it into your iPad calender? In the Mail tab, go to contacts, then calenders. You can then go to Add An Account and then Other. Select “Add CalDAV” and enter the credentials you use for your Google account. Leave the settings menu and open the calendar app. There you have it!
When setting up FaceTime on your iPad, make sure that your email and phone number is correct. When it’s on default, FaceTime on the iPad includes the email you set up with your iPad, but it’s possible to add more. If you have more than one email or number, the settings section is where you want to go.
The iPad has a clipboard for copying and pasting, just like a full-size computer. Tap the text you intend to copy and hold your finger down, then choose “select” from the popup menu that appears. When the text appears highlighted in yellow, you can select copy. Then, tap and hold for a few seconds and choose Paste.
Think about if you want to lock your iPad’s orientation or turn off your sound with the lock key. Earlier iPads aren’t able to do this. Any iPad that runs on iOS 4.3 or above will have this feature. The volume decrease button is also a mute button.
Running Apps
Double-click the Home button if you want access to all of the actively running apps. That will give you a bar that includes all the running apps, and you can access them by pressing on the icon in the bar. Doing so lets you remember which apps are currently open.
Alter the amount of brightness that you have on your device during the day. You can find the brightness setting by double clicking the Home button. There, you can select options to match the brightness to the ambient light in your environment.
